One Busy Blessed Mom

I promised to post more regularly last month. . . . not only has that not happened, but for numerous reasons, I have very few pictures to show for the excitement going on in our house. We are now officially back in the swing of things. Ansley has been back in dance for over a month and just started rehearsals for her part in a local ballet company's production of the Nutcracker. Although it is only a three minute part, she could care less. She was very excited Saturday to try on her "angel costume" and it was pretty cool watching her get so worked up over it. Aydan is back in soccer and LOVING every minute of it. Thanks to Coach Chris being so accomodating practices have been on Ryan's off nights from school so everything is working out peachy for our clan this fall.

Look out ~ Here we come ~ First Place Funniest Float

We have had several exciting events. . . . The kids were thrilled to participate in their first parade and were part of their school's float in a local Fall Community Festival Parade! They spent the rest of the day and way into the night selling popcorn, cookies and water with their friends to raise money for their school. They were troopers.

We have returned to our Family Friday Fun Nights that we had started when the twins were three and I was working part-time. So far . . . Aydan has spent "half of the night" with Chase, while Ansley and had her toes and nails done for the first time. We have gone tubing, sadly for the first and only time this summer. We went bowling ( I won by the way and will spare you the self-gratifying picture I took of the screen that listed me as ZENA, but the winner none the same!)

Yippee ~ A STRIKE

Ansley giving her bowling ball a little encouragment!

Last Friday, while Brody insisted on staying with Papa for the night (he felt very left out of the BOY TRIP ~ Ryan assured him he could go from now on), Ansley and I settled for bubble baths and a Barbie movie while Aydan and Ryan took off for Florida to take a chance on getting a high five from Tim Tebow before Saturday's game. Aydan has read about him all summer and is in complete awe of his talent and spirit. Ryan and I are of the belief he could choose much worse atheletes to obsessively read about, so of course the self-sacrificing parent that he is Ryan "splurged" on Florida/Troy tickets on the premise of supporting a friend that coaches at Troy. I told him no amount of support was going to change the outcome of that game, but oh well. So on Saturday, Ryan and Aydan walked right up to the front of the line at the Gator Walk, waited for an hour and then Tim Tebow just happened to know the person standing next to Aydan in the crowd of thousands, stopped hugged his friend, looked straight at my adoring son and gave him a high five!!! WOW ~ it even gave me cold chills. The only thing that would have made my son happier would have been if Tim Tebow were Jesus. He was so excited he made Ryan sit though three quarters of drenching rain to watch a team neither actively supports (for now)!

Aydan is the one in the orange hat . . . waiting for his high five

Brody has started "preschool" in our "basement school" with my friend MaryBeth's triplets Maggie, Kate and Sarah on Fridays. I have to admit I am having a blast "teaching" again, even if it is to my own child and three others and I have no idea how to "do preschool". I hope they are having as much fun as I am and learning at least a little!

Whew. . . . . I think that about sums it up! I am tired just recounting the events of the last month and I am sure I left out half of the things with no pictures to refresh my memory.
